How do I get Live Time up and running?
1.) Download the Live Time macOS application from the App Store. You can find that by clicking here.
2.) Once installed, open up the LiveTime app. Once opened you will see this window.
3.) If you are wanting to watch a clock that already exists follow the steps listed below. If you are wanting to control your own clock, skip down to number 6.
4.) To watch an existing clock, click on "Open Clock Output." Once you click on it, you will see this window open up. In this window you will see nearby clocks already on your network, or clocks you have already loaded.
5.) Once you select the clock you would like, hit connect and the output window will appear.
6.) If you would like to start your own clock for others to see select "open control panel" from your welcome page. Once you click on it, you will see this window open up. In this window you will see nearby clocks already on your network, or clocks you have already loaded.
7.) Once you connect to the clock server your control panel will open up and you will have access to it.
8.) *Note* If you connect to a clock server and your window is greyed out as pictures below, you need to "take control" of this clock.
9.) To "take control" of a clock, select "Control Modes" at the top of your window then select "take control" and your window will let you have full control over your clocks.
What if I don't have a clock yet?
1.) You can connect to a server with self discover, IP, or hostname.
Or, turn on your own broadcasted server with an in-app purchase of $9.99/mo or $99.99/year. If you would like, you can try it free for a week! To purchase the in-app purchase, go to your welcome page, and click on preferences. Once there, you can click "on" underneath "Clock Serve Enabled" to complete the purchase.
2.) Once you make the in-app purchase, you will see the clock name is your computer name. You can change that to whatever you would like and then hit update for it to take affect.
What about these other options?
In your preferences window you will see some other options. Here are what those options do.
1.) "Open Clock Output on Launch" creates a new window for your clock when you launch Live Time.
2.) "Open Control Panel on Launch" bypasses the welcome page and launches your control panel for the last connected clock each time you open Live Time.
3.) "Open System Time on Launch" opens a new window when Live Time launches which displays your computers time.
4.) "Reset Live Time" resets all Live Time preferences and sets the application back to ground zero.
What if I have other devices that I want to watch my master clock?
1.) For minimal cost, get LiveTime Viewer for iOS, tvOS and watchOS to connect to your server. Additionally, you can simply connect another LiveTime on the Mac to control or just to view. All you need to know is your server or domain name!
